Foundation Financial Group accepted the BizTech Innovation Award for Best Use of Social Media at an awards luncheon held at the Hyatt Regency. Foundation Financial employees also attended the Business Journal Expo and networked with other Jacksonville professionals.
“The Business Journal hosted an event that gave the Jacksonville business community an opportunity to learn from one another,” said Mark Boyer, Foundation Financial Group CEO. “The turnout was very impressive. The inaugural BizTech Innovation Awards Luncheon recognized Jacksonville businesses and individuals for developing and utilizing technology in creative ways. A catered lunch was served to attendees while the accomplishments of honorees were summarized. The ceremony celebrated those who are leveraging technology to run businesses more efficiently and effectively.
Following lunch, attendees explored the Business Journal Expo. Breakout sessions featured 30 minute presentations on relevant industry topics from corporate experts. ACTS informed attendees about achieving operational efficiency with Microsoft technologies. Wells Fargo discussed credit options for small businesses. Other presentations covered marketing advice for restaurants, long term investing strategies, and the state of employment recovery.
More than 75 Jacksonville companies were showcased at booths to distribute promotional items, advertise services, and network. The Daniel Foundation, an event sponsor, used its booth to feature information about its nationally-recognized programs for improving the lives of children, adolescents, and families. Kilwins passed out the coolest booth treat, a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
“The events were a chance for Jacksonville professionals to socialize within the business community while gaining valuable insights into a variety of industries,” continued Boyer. “It’s wonderful to share a meal, some laughter, and information with people you might otherwise miss out on connecting with.”
