AC Pro Launches Social Media Campaign to Raise Funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation
Fontana, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and AC Pro is proud to announce the launch of a special social media campaign that will raise funds to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® (NBCF) and its mission to save lives through early detection and to provide free mammograms for those in need. AC Pro will support NBCF by donating 10 cents for every new Facebook® "Like" the company receives during the month of October, up to $25,000.
"We all know someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer," said Andrew Webb, business development manager for AC Pro. "As a family-owned air conditioning company that puts family first, we strive to support organizations that are making a true difference in the lives of our mothers, sisters, daughters, co-workers and customers. This is why we proudly support the National Breast Cancer Foundation."
This will be AC Pro's first time supporting NBCF. Danae Johnson, Development Manager of the National Breast Cancer Foundation said, "We appreciate their support!"
The American Cancer Society estimates more than 232,000 women and 2,200 men in America will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and more than 40,000 will die from the disease. The early detection of breast cancer saves thousands of lives each year. According to the American Cancer Society, if cancer is detected early the five-year survival rate exceeds 99 percent. Unfortunately, a recent study shows approximately 66.5 percent of women 40 years of age and older reported getting a mammogram in the past two years.
"Breast cancer has directly affected my family; my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago." Webb stated, "Early detection was the key to the successful treatment of her breast cancer. This is why I'm encouraging everyone to visit our Facebook page and make one click to help raise money for an important cause that is making a difference in the lives of women throughout our country."
According to company officials, AC Pro has guaranteed to donate at least $2,500 to the NBCF and hope to donate the full amount of $25,000 through this promotion.
