BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, announced today that the 10th Annual BlogHer Conference will return to its roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. Taking over the San Jose Convention Center and four downtown hotels, BlogHer ‘14 will take place July 24-26, 2014. BlogHer also announced a new partnership with IDG World Expo to produce its two flagship events, BlogHer ’14 and BlogHer Food ’14 this May in Miami.
“BlogHer was born in 2005 with the very first annual conference in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we’ve always called it ‘the conference the community built,’” said Elisa Camahort Page, Jory Des Jardins, and Lisa Stone, BlogHer Co-founders. “Ten years later, the community has built the conference into the largest event for bloggers and social media influencers in the nation.”
The conference is host to thousands of attendees, more than 100 sponsoring brands, and a leading event for thought leaders, market influencers, new product launches, and creative entrepreneurs. The conference was the first stepping stone to the creation of the BlogHer Network and ultimately the “BlogHer Economy,” which has resulted in BlogHer, Inc.’s paying more than $25 million to bloggers and influencers from 2009-2012.
BlogHer also announced today a partnership with IDG World Expo to produce both BlogHer ’14 and BlogHer Food ’14. IDG is the largest event production company in the world, producing 700 events in 63 countries per year, including leading technology, gaming, and user-focused conferences Macworld, E3, and AnimeCon.
