OneBeat, the leading multi-platform media and entertainment company dedicated to Electronic Dance Music, announced today that Eric Thompson is joining the company as CEO. Thompson will be responsible for oversight of the leading EDM lifestyle and culture content curator channel and for growing the company’s market-share.

Mr. Thompson joins OneBeat from Microsoft Corporation where he led branded entertainment and business development on behalf of Xbox advertising. In addition to creating several “first-of-their-kind” branded entertainment events at Xbox, he led the efforts that resulted in bringing the OneBeat app to the Xbox platform as well as the first EDM live streaming event, Sensation 2012. Thompson, who in addition to his lifelong involvement with music has almost 20 years of experience in technology marketing and sales and has held positions in Microsoft’s OEM and MSN divisions as well as Intel Corporation, where we worked for nine years before joining Microsoft.

Thompson, a former educator, created the first media arts charter school in Stockton, CA. He holds a B.A. In English and Education from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University's Leavy School of Business. He is married with two children.
