Bellucci Premium Makes a Statement about the Olive Oil Council’s Decision to Review Quality Seals on Olive Oil Brands
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Bellucci Premium, a producer of extra virgin olive oil, comments on an article published by The Olive Oil Times that explains the meeting agenda set by the International Olive Council (IOC) to discuss quality seals on olive oil next week.
According to an Olive Oil Times article published on October 17th titled “Council Taking Closer Look at Olive Oil Quality Seals,” olive oil producers from all over the globe, including Australia and California, have been invited to join the International Olive Council for a meeting to discuss the topic of quality seals on olive oil being sold to consumers.
The meeting is scheduled to be held on October 25th. It is a follow-up to a meeting in July held by the IOC that initially brought up the issue of quality seals, according to the article. Since the issue required further discussion, the IOC has invited all committee members that wished to share their thoughts on the issue.
The October 25th meeting will take place in Madrid. According to the article, it will be held in the same place where “last week the agriculture ministers from the Spanish central and the Andalusian regional governments also met and agreed to start work on a proposed quality seal to bolster the image of Spanish and Andalusian olive oil in foreign markets.”
“It is great to see an effort to ensure consumers of the quality of the olive oil they are purchasing,” says Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for Bellucci Premium. “The olive oil industry has unfortunately fallen victim to numerous cases of food fraud, which has resulted in consumers losing trust in olive oil brands. Any effort to help restore this trust would greatly benefit the industry.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
