Cyber-Duck creates dynamic sustainability microsite for BAM Construct UK
London, Greater London (PRWEB UK) 28 October 2013 -- BAM Construct UK has just launched a mobile friendly microsite, which showcases BAM’s experience and knowledge of sustainability in the construction industry.
Stakeholders can now use the website to view and download the annual BAM Sustainability Report using any device.
Whilst maintaining the classic and reliable reputation of BAM’s brand image, the website embraces clever design features such as the parallax scrolling on the website’s homepage. This allows graphics in the foreground to move at a different rate to background images as the user scrolls down the page, animating the information and images that are displayed. Infographics have been used to display the information making the data-heavy content easier and more enjoyable to understand.
As well as supporting state-of-the-art parallax scrolling, the new microsite incorporates responsive web design (RWD), meaning that the website adapts to fit the screen offering visitors the best possible experience according to the device it is being viewed on. BAM wanted to ensure that the findings of the report were accessible to all web users, regardless of device and screen size. This is in light of the percentage of mobile users continuing to grow over the last year.
BAM’s Marketing Information Manager, Mukesh Parmar said: “We are really pleased with the new responsive microsite, as it dynamically showcases our excellent sustainability experience and progress. The aesthetically pleasing website is easy to navigate and makes sustainability content more approachable for our stakeholders.”
Cyber-Duck specialise in providing mobile websites with optimal user experience (UX) design. They worked closely on the project with BAM using their ISO accredited User Centred Design (UCD) methodology. This ensured that the BAM sustainable website was built with users in mind whilst also delivering BAM’s objectives.
The website sets out the ways in which BAM has improved its operations, minimising the company’s impact on the environment and investing in the health and well-being of its people and the planet. The report is designed to be used as a resource for employees as well as contractors in the industry. BAM is committed to lead the construction industry in incorporating sustainability practices into their processes.
The website features the six focal areas of the BAM Sustainability Report: sustainable design, reduced carbon emissions, resource efficiency, responsible sourcing of materials, community support and maintaining good health and well-being within the work environment. Along with insight into these sustainable indicators, the report details case studies of some of BAM’s most sustainable projects.
