Long Island, NY (PRWEB) October 29, 2013
Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. (OTC Markets: VEND), North America's leading healthy vending franchisor, announced an addition to its New York franchises, with the selection of Long Island franchise owner Ron Leder. Leder installed five Fresh Healthy Vending machines throughout the Long Island, NY area last month, adding to the already 36 machines currently placed throughout New York.
After a career in the pharmaceutical industry, Leder recently launched his Fresh Healthy Vending franchise with his mother, Malka Rucker, and the support of San Diego-based franchisor Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. As their first dually owned business venture, the mother-son team will operate nine machines at various locations in the area. The new machines will substitute traditional vending machines for healthier snacks and beverages, such as smoothies, soymilk, fruit, vegetables, yogurt granola bars, baked chips and natural sodas.
"In recent years, I’ve placed a strong emphasis on making healthier changes and positive food choices in my own life and, in turn, want to instill this mentality and provide the healthier options for the youth in my community,” said franchisee Ron Leder. “The lack of healthy products available to kids in schools and after-school activity locations is disappointing. I wanted to offer a solution that would make healthy options more available, without losing the convenience that vending machines bring to schools and businesses.”
Secured by Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. and operated by Leder and Rucker, Mt. Saint Ursula Academy in New Rochelle, NY was one of the first locations to install Fresh Healthy Vending in the community. The private, all-girls school of 350 students removed four traditional vending machines, comprised of candy, non-baked chips and sugar-filled sodas, for the installment of its first Fresh Healthy Vending machine, which sold out in the first day.
"Since day one, the strong appeal of Fresh Healthy Vending’s selected products has persisted, so it’s no surprise that the current machine sells out in a day or two and we have immediate plans to install a second machine at the school,” said Leder.
The other four locations taking the initiative for healthier vending options with Fresh Healthy Vending machines are the Commack Public Library in Commack, NY; Nubreed Martial Arts in Whitestone, NY; Elite Dance Studio in Fairport, NY; and All Star Studio in Forest Hills, NY.
“Our machines are a great way to offer the community healthier food options tailored to their dietary needs,” said Alex Kennedy, CEO of Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. “Teaching kids the importance of eating healthy and prompting them to make more nutritious food choices is something we believe is critical, especially considering the rise of child obesity. We are happy to see the community taking the necessary steps to educate their children and promote healthy living.”
The Fresh Healthy Vending machines launching in New York are some of the 2,000 locations throughout North America, with locations in office break rooms, school campuses, community centers, shopping malls, hospitals and more. In addition to the healthier vending machines’ snacks and beverages, Fresh Healthy Vending also produces Fresh Healthy Café: a vending machine that distributes gourmet organic coffee drinks together with signature healthy snack options. In September, Fresh Healthy Vending announced the launch of its Fresh Healthy Vending Touch machine: the first-ever digital healthy vending machine. The interactive, fully customizable machine boasts a 46-inch, 3D touchscreen powered by Intel Processor. As of October 2013, Fresh Healthy Vending has appointed over 200 franchises.
