Winery Exchange Expands Sales Force

Leading beverage alcohol company restructures and increases sales organization to meet growing business.

Winery Exchange, a leading producer of quality wine, beer and spirits, has restructured and expanded its sales organization to meet the needs of its growing business in the U.S. and the U.K. The sales arm of the company has been restructured to include a team dedicated to beer, another to wine & spirits, and a national accounts team.

"In recent years, Winery Exchange has expanded beyond a successful private label business with the development of a national brands division," said Abbott Wolfe, Senior Vice President of Sales, Winery Exchange. "We now have a strong national sales team in place to meet the needs of existing and potential customers. We are seeing an increased demand for innovative wine and beer products that deliver on value and high quality."

Winery Exchange has bolstered its beer team to meet the growth of that category, especially with the rise of craft beer. Marc Kibbey has been appointed to Vice President of Sales/Beer. Kibbey most recently served as Vice President Sales, Food and Beverage Category, at Owens-Illinois, Inc. Prior to that, he served as Division Vice President for Pabst Brewing Company and also worked for Coors Brewing Company. Kibbey currently resides in Hinsdale, IL.

The company also has appointed two new regional managers to its beer team: Michael Manning, Regional Sales Manager/Beer for the South and John Derringer, Regional Sales Manager/Beer for the Central region. Prior to joining Winery Exchange, Manning was National Account Manager at North American Breweries in Dallas, TX. Derringer served most recently as Area Sales Manager for Kentucky, where he is based, for Pabst Brewing.

Shawn Schiffer has been named Vice President of Sales/National Accounts for the U.S. Schiffer, who previously worked at Winery Exchange between 2010-2011, returns to the company after serving as Director of Corporate Chains for the Alliance Division at Wirtz Beverage in Chicago. Schiffer will be based in Northern California.

Kevin Meehan joins the company’s wine sales team as Regional Sales Manager covering the Southeast. Meehan joins Winery Exchange with more than 18 years of wine & spirits industry experience. He spent 13 years covering various markets in the Southeast for Kobrand Corporation, where he served most recently as Southeast Regional Chain Manager. He is based in Georgia.

Winery Exchange has also appointed a new Director of Sales in its UK office. Tom Roberts joins the company with more than 20 years of experience in the UK wine industry. He previously held senior sales roles at Treasury Wine Estates, Foster’s Group and Southcorp Wines.
