Cass County Health System marked a decade of changes, growth and new facilities by making the move to a new logo.

The new logo designed by McLellan Marketing Group

“This logo really represents who we are – a unified team of caring professionals growing and keeping up-to-date with medical advances, which you can depend on to care for you, right here at home,” said Pat Markham, CEO.

Officials at Cass County Health System announced a new logo design today to be used throughout the health system. The new logo was developed to better reflect the integrated care provided by all of the health system affiliates – Cass County Memorial Hospital, Atlantic Medical Center, Eye Associates, Southwest Iowa Surgery, and Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center.

The Cass County Memorial Hospital Foundation will utilize the new logo as well.

“We are very excited to have a logo that represents the full scope of services throughout Cass County Health System,” noted Pat Markham, CEO. “When you think of all the changes that have occurred in healthcare over the past ten to fifteen years, both locally and nationally, it’s amazing. As we complete our construction and renovation project and move into an exciting new era of health care in Cass County, this felt like the right time to update our logo.”

The previous hospital logo was designed by a long-time staff member, Bev Mendenhall in 1987. Originally used in brown, the logo was updated to blue in 1992, with Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center and the CCMH Foundation using the same design in different colors.

Over the years, Atlantic Medical Center, Eye Associates and Southwest Iowa Surgery all developed individual business logos. When Cass County Health System was formed in January, 2000, no changes were made to any of the logos. Finally, in 2006, a health system text logo was developed, but all the others remained in use, too.

“The new logo reflects our motto, Neighbors Caring for Neighbors,” Pat noted. “You can see the medical cross in the center with the arms of all the health system affiliates wrapped together, supporting and caring for our neighbors.” The colors of the image also add to the message. Blue represents dependability and security, communicating the health system provides a strong, solid foundation. The green represents growth, health and a sense of calm.

Cass County Health System turned to the Des Moines based branding and marketing agency McLellan Marketing Group (http://www.mclellanmarketing.com) for the logo development.

"It's a fun and fascinating challenge to capture the essence of any business in a single mark. But to capture an entire family of businesses and to really honor how they work together was a blast. We're very proud of our work with Cass County and thrilled that we were asked," said McLellan Marketing Group's president, Drew McLellan
