Aptara and BlueCross BlueShield: Extended Development Team: XDT
Bronze Award
BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) needed to quickly create large volumes of new and effective employee training to meet compliance deadlines imposed by the Affordable Care Act of 2012 (ACA). Aptara proposed a blended eLearning delivery model that integrated dedicated teams and empowered BCBS to select the most appropriate team for each task. The “task-sourcing” approach involved an Extended Development Team (XDT) that combined onshore instructional designers with off-shore teams of developers, designers, and HTML5 specialists who collaborated with BCBSNC staff to design and build mobile eLearning courses. BCBSNC’s willingness to explore creative new development and delivery models contributed to the project’s successful learning outcomes. Aptara and KPMG LLP: KPMG Global Tax Curriculum Review
Bronze Award
Aptara created a curriculum that included training requirement recommendations, high level objectives, and delivery mediums for each tax topic and training module. Certain topics were recommended for web based training (WBT) and others for instructor led training (ILT). Using this blended approach and the new curriculum, Aptara designed and built the WBT courses while KPMG developed the ILT courses. Both sets of courses were implemented across KPMG’s Tax Service Line’s offices worldwide.
“Vast external change requires fresh thinking and creative approaches,” said Dev Ganesan, President and CEO of Aptara. “From new delivery models and ‘right’ task sourcing, to blended learning, Aptara prides itself on innovative, results-driven solutions to today’s new Learning & Performance challenges.”
