Diamond Bar, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2013
Participants in the 4th Annual Diamond Bar ECO-EXPO now have one more environmentally friendly reason to clean out their closets, grab a couple of bags of free garden mulch, shred old documents and dispose of unwanted electronic equipment on Saturday November 2, 2013.
Attendees are encouraged to celebrate America Recycles Day by bringing a bag of unwanted clothes, shoes and household textiles to the South Coast AQMD Parking Lot across from City Hall between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Brightly colored ATRS Recycling bins will be stationed adjacent to the Waste Management mulch containers.
Diamond Bar residents already support the textile recycling program and many local retailers, property managers and store owner provide this easy and convenient opportunity to recycle all year round. Every pound collected in the community generates revenue to support local charity Giving Children Hope and the “We’ve Got Your Back” nutrition program in area schools. To find a location near you, simply call the 24-Hour Hotline with your address or zip code at 1-866-900-9308.
“This is a fun opportunity to teach families and kids about the benefits of recycling,” says Bill Corrao, Government Relations Director for ATRS Southern California. “By bringing a bag of recycling to the Diamond Bar ECO-EXPO, you’re keeping textiles out of our municipal landfills, helping a local charity and doing something great for the planet. It’s win win win!”
