Northwestern Student Wins Buildium’s Inaugural Build U. Scholarship
(PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- Jai Krishnan, a graduate student in the Engineering Design and Innovation MS program at Northwestern University in Illinois, is the winner of the inaugural Build U. scholarship from Buildium LLC, a property management software company based in Boston.
Krishnan beat out dozens of other entrants and will receive a $2,000 prize for his essay explaining how having a shared set of beliefs is important for building a great company.
“When I first read Jai’s essay, I knew right away it was something special. Rather than just listing a set of beliefs and telling us why they’re important, Jai answered the question through a fictional story set in a classroom in the distant future. That really made it stand out from the crowd,” said Matt Donnelly, Content Strategist at Buildium.
“We had a number of strong entries that examined the essential role that core values play in building lasting and enduring companies,” said Buildium Co-Founder Michael Monteiro. “It’s a topic we’re passionate about at Buildium, so it’s encouraging to see such interest from students across the country. We’re already looking forward to reading the spring essays and to making the Build U. scholarship a biannual event.”
The Build U. scholarship page has details on entering future essay competitions. The next essay deadline is April 1, 2014.
