World Education Launches Industry-First Mobile Application Design and Development Certification Course
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- World Education has partnered with online course developer Et Tu Create to offer a first-ever Mobile App Design and Development course with an industry certification.
Et Tu Create founder and lead developer Steve Waddell says, “This really is the first online mobile application design development apprentice level certification course that's available anywhere. So, this is a unique course that we've been working on for about three years.”
World Education CEO and online education pioneer Steve Gatlin says, "We're excited about being able to offer a course that teaches you how to create mobile apps for iOS and Android. We are especially happy to offer this as a national certification that will open new doors of opportunity for students in one of the fastest growing fields in IT."
The course is designed as an introduction to mobile app design and development and requires no previous programming on the part of students. Waddell says, "People without any programming background or design and development experience to get a chance to get engaged with building mobile applications, to see if it’s something they might be interested in as a career."
The course takes a holistic approach to mobile app development and provides students with a broad understanding of the mobile application industry.
“We get into everything from hardware and operating systems, the history of mobile applications and mobile devices, project management, lifecycle management, user experience and user interface design, monetization, and legal and ethics aspects,” says Waddell. “We'll take you all the way from 'what is a program?' to actually having developed your first application.”
The online course uses a development kit that allows students to code an app once, and then port it to virtually any iOS, Droid, Blackberry, Windows or Mac device. According to Waddell, “This makes it a lot easier for someone to create a cool app, and then get it out to the masses without having to go back and recode it for the various models and operating systems on the market."
The course includes over 130 video tutorials, and can be accessed through virtually any Internet-connected device. “The best part of this course is that, not only are you learning how to develop for mobile devices, but you can take this course with you anywhere and access the curriculum content from your computer, tablet or smartphone. So you will never be away from the curriculum,” says Waddell.
The vendor neutral and apprentice level course certification is through WebProfessionals.org, whose mission is to foster professional standards and education among web professionals.
WebProfessionals.org Executive Director Bill Cullifer says, “We’re excited about the job prospects for Mobile Application Developers. The WebProfessionals.org apprentice level Mobile Application Developer Certification is a fantastic start at a fruitful career in Web development.”
