Vanguard Surgical Center is a new, multi-specialty surgery center located in Maywood, N.J., scheduled to open in December. The more than 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art ASC features three operating rooms. Its physicians will provide services in specialties that include spine, orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics, neurosurgery, oral/maxillofacial, plastics, pain management and general surgery. Vanguard is managed by Murphy Healthcare, a leader in building and rehabilitating ASCs since 1990.

PriorityOne Group was selected as the ASC's IT solutions integrator early in the facility's development. PriorityOne Group will manage and coordinate virtually every aspect of the customized technology implementation. Services provided by the PriorityOne Group team during the project will include network design, IT hardware procurement, configuration and installation; selection, configuration and deployment of the practice management system.

PriorityOne Group will work closely with the facility's architects, general contractors, third-party vendors and management team to complete the projects on time and within budget.

"Vanguard Surgical Center is a truly impressive facility, with leading physicians who are already known for providing cutting-edge surgical treatments and quality patient care," said Nelson Gomes, President and CEO of PriorityOne Group. "The management services provided by the highly respected team at Murphy Healthcare will help ensure Vanguard has efficient operations and remains financially strong. We are pleased they partnered with PriorityOne Group on this project because of our extensive experience working with de novo and existing ASCs, as well as other healthcare providers."

The decision to select PriorityOne Group as the IT vendor for Vanguard was based upon several critical factors, says John Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of Murphy Healthcare Group.

"I wanted to hire an experienced company with veteran leadership that I could trust would help make the best decisions for this new ASC. I've seen Nelson's back-office operations and know that he has the structure in place to be a successful partner for us," Murphy says. "That trust means I don't have to worry about Nelson and the PriorityOne team putting the interests of the facility first. They've helped me make decisions that saved the center money without sacrificing functionality. How often do you come across a vendor that's eager to help save you money? Those are the reason why I'm working with Nelson and PriorityOne on this project."

Dr. Dante Implicito, an orthopedic spine surgeon, and Dr. Richard Winters, an aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon, who are owners of the new ASC, say they have confidence that PriorityOne Group will provide Vanguard with the technology and services needed for the surgery center to achieve its short- and long-term objectives.

"We expect Vanguard to quickly become a leading provider of surgical care, and we knew to achieve this goal would require partnering with a leading ASC IT service provider that would understand and help us execute our vision," Dr. Implicito. "PriorityOne is this company."

"We are confident that Nelson and his team will make sure Vanguard has the right technology to support the services we will provide upon opening, and the growth we anticipate in the coming years," Dr. Winters says.

PriorityOne Group will be retained to provide 24×7 monitoring and support for Vanguard following its opening under a new managed services agreement.

"We look forward to focusing on the technology needs of Vanguard to allow its physicians to focus on their true priority: delivering high-quality patient care and surgical outcomes," Gomes said.
