The S4 allows vehicle owners to track their vehicle remotely using text messaging between the tracker device installed in the owner’s vehicle and their personal cell phone. The S4 device sends a text message to the owner’s smartphone if the car alarm is triggered or the vehicle is being towed. The owner can assess the situation by viewing the vehicle location on their smartphone using Google maps or using latitude/longitude, speed and heading in the text message. If an emergency is occurring, the owner can disable the starter and press the # key to have the S4 call the closest 911 Call Center using 911SafeTrack’s patented 3-party calling technology to enable the owner to explain the emergency to the police.
In non-emergency situations, the vehicle owner can unlock the door in cases where the keys are locked in the vehicle; can send a text message to the vehicle to determine its location, speed and heading, or to find the vehicle in a parking lot. Communication with the vehicle is protected by a user selected 5-digit PIN thereby ensuring the vehicle owner’s privacy. No specialized police registration or police vehicle equipment is needed for the T3 to function properly.
