Qubole™, a provider of the next generation Cloud Big Data platform, has announced the appointment of Geoff Lunsford as Senior Director of World Wide Sales. He will be reporting directly to the CEO and will be focused on growing the demand for Qubole’s flagship product, the Qubole Data Service (QDS) platform.

Geoff Lunsford has enjoyed a 15 year career in solution sales in a variety of industries, from Telecommunications to Data Center Services and from Hardware to Software Solutions. He has also been a featured speaker at numerous Big Data, CIO Summits and Java-related events.

Geoff comes to Qubole from Terracotta, a leading in-memory data management company, where he was responsible for leading the Americas sales organization. He brings crucial leadership experience in commercial sales, inside sales, the channel ecosystem and the Fed/SLED markets. During his tenure with Terracotta, software & services sales revenues consistently grew year over year by more than 300%. Mr. Lunsford also spent five years at Red Hat, where he managed the Florida market for all customer-related activities including sales, consulting and training. Geoff joined Red Hat through the acquisition of JBoss, where he focused on strategic vertical markets and was responsible for the sales activities in the northeast area of the United States.
