During Alliott Group’s annual 2013 Worldwide Conference in Hong Kong, members found time to utilize their skills and man power in assisting and bringing some joy to some of Hong Kong’s elderly.

The event was organized by member John Jones in conjunction with Adrian Pang Chairman the Rotary Club of Hong Kong South and AKA Social Services. Over 120 Alliott Group delegates and companions were able to serve this important non-profit organization that assist with the poor and elderly within the locality of Aberdeen, Hong Kong.

At the AKA Social Service Headquarters Hall, Alliott Group Members helped to bring some ‘Love and Fun’ to a group of elderly by spending the afternoon providing entertainment, which included, live performances from both the Alliott Group and representatives from AKA, which included juggling, singing and traditional drumming. Finishing with a cross-generation Art Workshop, gift presentation and Group Photo.

AKA has been established since 1976 (the parent association is Aberdeen Kai-Fong Welfare Association Limited which has been established since 1950) AKA provides a necessary social welfare service and is supported by the Social Welfare Department. Striving to provide accessible and reliable welfare services to the public so as to meet the goal of mutuality.

James Hickey, CEO of Alliott Group commented: “When attending a conference or meeting it is all too easy to just appreciate the finer things in life in terms of staying at good hotels and eating at fine dining restaurants located in the prime locations of the host city. Alliott Group believes that it is important that when we hold a meeting that we do not just focus on business but look to leave a lasting impression on the community and show that people do care and are willing to give something back. The Group is committed to its Giving Something Back project and over the coming years we are looking to develop the program to include greater involvement throughout member firms of Pro Bono work, charitable fundraising and also to become more sustainable in the form of reducing the carbon footprint of the travel that members and staff do”
