LED Strip Lights co. Commends The Innovation Of “Legos From Mars” By Studio Roosegaarde
(PRWEB UK) 31 October 2013 -- An article in Wired called “These Glowing Crystals Are Like Legos From Mars” posted on the 28th of October 2013, explained that ‘Crystals’ was basically an LED playground, which uses geometric crystals in a variety of shapes and colours, that activate as they are placed on a thin, black magnetic mat. The mat charges the scattered crystals wirelessly and makes their light brighter the closer they are to the mat.
When talking about the “Legos From Mars” as he calls them, Daan Roosegaarde explains that children are brought up to personalise their surroundings with toys and their imagination, but he raises concerns that we lose this as adults. He hopes that 'Crystals' can bring out the creativeness and imagination of children and adults alike. One man has already proposed to his girlfriend by writing ‘Marry me?’ with the glowing toys.
Daan Roosegaarde from Studio Roosegaarde is known for his experiments within LED lighting technology. His previous project, which examined the use of an interactive road and the lights involved in that, was highly appraised, earning him the Index Award.
A spokesperson from leading online LED company LED Strip Lights co. commended the creativity of Studio Roosegaarde by saying, “What a fantastically simple idea. This is the kind of message that we want to send out every day with our strip lights; they are fun, they are flexible and they are creative; please do something fun with them! It’s clear that Roosegaarde never lost his inner child and curiosity."
“It’s interesting that they’ve discussed the idea of lights as communication – it always has been, from warning beacons, to lighthouses right up until the last few days when LEDs are being used to significantly improve internet connections with Li-Fi. Their Crystals and our strip lights can be used to write words, symbols and create moods – what better way is there to communicate creatively?”
