Pilot designed to offer more secure interaction among financial markets professionals.

DerivaTrust Technologies, a software and communications provider of secure transaction and information platforms for financial market participants, today announced the launch of a financial collaboration pilot designed to offer more secure interaction among market professionals. The service looks to provide a trusted information sharing environment with a layered defense against malware, rogue administrator theft of sensitive data, and other pertinent risks in the financial marketplaces.

The pilot is designed to create a neutral “collaboration space” between counterparties, enabling them to interact, share information or run computations, while maintaining data confidentiality and integrity. The core of the DerivaTrust proposition is the “peer-to-peer” proprietary discovery and communication system for virtualized contracts. The pilot pairs the current DerivaTrust capability with a combination of Intel ® TXT server technology available on Intel® Xeon® processors and research technology called “Reliance Point,” developed by Intel Labs to provide parties with trustworthy information sharing environments.

The pilot will be used to determine how these joint capabilities can work together to potentially offer a secure, “hardened” discovery environment that integrates into the workflow of financial market participants.

Notes Ron Quaranta, CEO of DerivaTrust: “This pilot of DerivaTrust’s core system using Intel Labs’ Reliance Point technology is compelling given the current concerns in financial markets, such as information leakage, theft of proprietary data and the ever expanding areas of regulatory and compliance monitoring. I look forward to the results of the pilot and potentially, to the capabilities’ growing acceptance and use across multiple marketplaces.”

“Reliance Point has the potential to help make data sharing more secure,” said Sridhar Iyengar, Director of Security & Privacy Research in Intel Labs. “We’re pleased to be working with DerivaTrust to test this research and explore its viability and performance in financial markets.”
