MHF Services Makes First Major Foray into the Oil and Gas Market
Wexford, PA (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- MHF Services (MHF), a leading provider of packaging, transportation, logistics and technical services for environmentally sensitive materials, recently made its first major foray into the oil and gas market on two separate projects.
The first project entailed truck-to-rail transloading and transportation of filter cake to US Ecology in Grandview, ID for disposal. Filter cake is the solid mass remaining on a filter after the liquid that contained it has passed through. The site had amassed approximately 530 tons of filter cake in 24 roll-off containers.
Under contract to an international environmental engineering company, MHF provided truck-to-rail transloading and rail transportation of the filter cake via a transload facility in North Bergen, NJ owned by New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway (NYSW) and operated by MHF. When the roll-off containers arrived on trucks from the project site, MHF personnel emptied the filter cake from the containers into our private gondola railcars and then arranged for rail transportation to US Ecology.
For a separate project at the same site, MHF provided our patented 96- and 242-cubic foot Lift Liner™ Systems, along with inner poly liners, lifting and loading frames to our client, a local oil and gas producer. The MHF Lift Liner System, when comprised of an outer and inner liner, is rated as a Department of Transportation (DOT) Industrial Package Type 1 (IP-1).
William Dawson, MHF Business Development Manager, said, “These two projects demonstrate that MHF’s packaging and transportation capabilities—which have been so successful in the radioactive and hazardous markets—can be applied with equal success to the oil and gas industry, a new market for us.”
