The State of DDoS: What Can You Do About the Threat?
During this webinar, Rakesh Shah will walk through Arbor Networks’ latest global attack data (Q3 2013) which is troubling as it shows that the distributed denial of service (DDoS) threat has accelerated. Many enterprises assume firewalls and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) devices protect them against DDoS attacks. The reality is far more complex. The existing perimeter solutions, while addressing other security problems, are simply not designed to stop DDoS, and enterprises need multi-layer DDoS protection to address this evolving threat.

Join this webinar to learn what Arbor’s research team has uncovered while analyzing data collected through our ATLAS® Active Threat Level Analysis System, a unique collaborative effort with 275+ service providers who have agreed to share anonymous traffic and attack data.

Some key findings we’ll be discussing:

  •     For 2013, an average DDoS attack now stands at 2.64Gb/sec, up 78% from 2012
  •     54% of attacks so far this year are over 1Gb/sec, up from 33% in 2012
  •     37% of attacks so far this year are in the 2-10Gb/sec range, up from 15% in 2012
