Homeowners in nine South Florida communities made screen patio enclosures the No. 1 product from Venetian Builders, Inc., in their communities during the first seven months of 2013, Venetian President Chris Noe said. Noe attributes the high sales figures to a need by homeowners for affordable living space that’s available for near 4 season use.

More people are staying put these days rather than moving, and a patio screen is an affordable way to add living area to the older house.

Screen rooms in Fort Lauderdale are all the rage this year among customers of Venetian Builders, Inc., Miami, President Chris Noe reported.

“Our screen patio enclosure sales in Fort Lauderdale and eight other communities exceeded our sales of any other product during the first seven months of 2013,” Noe said. Venetian designs and installs screen rooms, patio roofs, sunrooms and screen pool enclosures throughout South Florida, including the Keys.

Patio screen rooms were the top Venetian product clear into the second half of the year in Fort Lauderdale, Parkland, Pembroke Pines, Dania Beach and Coconut Creek in Broward County, and in Pinecrest, Hiahleah, Coconut Grove and the Biscayne Boulevard neighborhood of Miami in Miami-Dade, Noe said.

“Screen rooms are popular because they’re much more functional than an open patio, but they’re an economical way to enclose that patio,” Noe said. “More people are staying put these days rather than moving, and a patio screen is an affordable way to add living area to the older house.”

Screen patio enclosures also become useful on homes built originally as smaller sunbird refuges, such as in large areas of West Palm Beach, Noe said.

Venetian also builds a screen room that converts easily and economically to a solarium, enclosed fully with insulated glass, when the need and the family budget permit. “A patio screen enclosure can convert to a sunroom when it’s engineered and properly built to handle the upgrade, and we’re experienced at doing that,” Noe explained.

“With the South Florida climate, a screen room offers near 4 season use,” Noe said. “It widens lifestyle choices, especially for dining outdoors without being bothered by insects, birds and other nuisances. Screened patios also excel at providing secure fresh-air play spaces for children.”

Venetian offers free estimates that are written and detailed. It also provides free in-home consultations, which include curbside access to the Venetian mobile showroom. “It’s like having a showroom come to you, so you can see the materials and design options available,” Noe said.
