With the launch of the first premium ladies raincoats from Mosey & Lark, today marks the start of people abandoning their umbrellas in favor of more fashionable rainwear. Far from your average yellow pvc coat, Mosey & Lark's rainwear for women is the perfect mix of technology, luxury and style.

With surprisingly few options out there that are actually waterproof but don’t make me look like I’m on my way to Mt. Everest, I decided to design a coat that you could literally wear anywhere, even when it's raining.

Quirky new lifestyle brand, MOSEY & LARK, today announce the launch of their first collection of fashionable ladies raincoats.

Mosey & Lark is primed to lead the new trend of people abandoning their umbrellas in favor of more stylish women's rainwear that leaves both hands free and makes going out in the rain a welcome adventure.

Commonly, adult rainwear is either purely functional - offering maximum rain protection but with no regard for contemporary fashion or, alternatively, designed to look good but missing critical features like a proper hood, taped seams and breathable fabric rendering them little more than water resistant or just plain uncomfortable. From the technical membrane, heat-sealed seams and generous hood to the bold but wearable prints, tailored cut and luxe fabrics, Mosey & Lark finally presents a practical solution with a sense of fun and style that makes the ideal all-weather coat.

Commenting on the brand’s genesis, Hong Kong-based designer Idah Turner said:
“I hate carrying an umbrella, I love bright prints and in my everyday wardrobe, I demand both comfort and style. I have scoured the high street looking for a waterproof coat that is work appropriate but still fun and I was prepared to invest if I came across a piece that matched all my criteria. What I found is that there are surprisingly few options out there that are actually waterproof but don’t make me look like I’m on my way to Mt. Everest. That’s why I decided to design the Edinburgh, a coat that you could wear anywhere, even when it's raining.”

The launch collection of ladies raincoats introduces three original prints designed by Idah in a signature shape that is set to become an instant classic. Named Edinburgh after the famously drizzly British city, they feature a cloak-style hood and a belted, tailored cut to flatter any body shape. Mosey & Lark have employed the latest waterproofing technologies and in addition to a 10K/10K waterproof/breathable membrane, the fabric has been treated with a durable water resistant coating and all of the seams have been machine heat-sealed to maximize rain protection. The soft, breathable material and silky viscose lining means you can wear an Edinburgh over your normal attire and not feel like you are wrapped in plastic.

So will these coats supersede the need for umbrellas? Mosey & Lark certainly thinks so. Here are Idah’s top five reasons why you should ditch the brolly and go hands free:
1. Ever tried to walk a dog, eat an ice cream, push a pram or send a text while holding an umbrella? Even walking is more difficult. This is why an Edinburgh is perfect for mum’s and dog owners as much as people with phones, lives and things to do.
2. Unlike an umbrella, A Mosey & Lark coat won’t get turned inside out and/or break in windy weather.
3. You can only use an umbrella when it’s raining, no matter how perfectly it matches your outfit
4. By virtue of the fact you’ll be wearing it, a Mosey & Lark coat is much harder to lose or have stolen
5. A Mosey & Lark coat will never, EVER poke you or anyone else in the eye

MOSEY & LARK’s raincoats for women are available now through their website and will be launching through selected retailers soon.

MOSEY & LARK designs and manufactures high-quality apparel and accessories that bring a sense of adventure to every day.
