TUDI Mechanical Systems and Standard Air & Lite will install twelve – fifteen free furnaces to local area families in late January. Heat for the Needy was developed to provide assistance to families who cannot afford new heating systems, or are using unsafe forms of heat such as space heaters.

Warming Hearts Warming Homes

We are currently seeking nominations for low-income individuals and families in need of a new heating system. Our goal is to install a minimum of 12 new systems this year with help from local suppliers, vendors and volunteers who support this worthy cause.

We ask that you provide a letter including a background on the individual or family’s situation and information on how to contact the nominator and nominee. All nominations will be evaluated based on need and announced in the beginning of January 2014.

Over the past 11 years, the Heat for the Needy program has provided over 150 heating systems to families throughout the Pittsburgh area. Heat for the Needy is made possible through the gracious efforts of the employees and their families at TUDI Mechanical Systems, local suppliers and businesses who have donated in-kind supplies and services.
