(PRWEB UK) 4 November 2013 -- It has been reported in Expat Forum that bi-annual study Anholt- GfK City Brands measured the power and appeal of each city, with other popular destinations making up the top ten including New York, Rome, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vienne, and Melbourne. Aspects such as physical location, affordable accommodation, and economic and educational opportunities were all taken into consideration in the ranking.
Independent Policy Advisor on National Identity and Reputation Simon Anholt commented on the research explaining that “the index is not just about any single aspect of a city’s image, it gives the full picture that includes the city’s social and cultural environment.”
Interdean, a company specialising in worldwide as well as residential UK moves, were pleased to hear that London was found to be the best city in the world to live in. A representative from the firm explains some possible reasons behind the attraction of the capital.
“For expats, one of the most important things to look for in a future city is the ability to settle in well. London is considered to be welcoming to people from diverse cultures. Take into account economic and educational opportunities as well as entertainment and location and it is understandable that it performed so well in this recent study. Our advice for anyone thinking of relocating would be to take a closer look at the findings of this research, as well as other research to get a good overall picture of what it’s like to live in a particular destination.”
