Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) October 30, 2013
Thomas P Meehan, a distinguished Clearwater, Florida business owner, is celebrating his twenty-fifth successful year of entrepreneurship by challenging conventional beliefs regarding individuals who were either arrested or accused of committing a crime. Meehan has specifically issued a challenge to his fellow business owners in and around Pinellas County, asking that they turn a somewhat less judgmental eye to “gotcha” websites that report arrest records for any person who has been arrested.
Thomas P Meehan spent much of 2012 and 2013 educating himself regarding search engine optimization, online consumer reporting sites and the concept that “gotcha” websites are intended to shame a person rather than do some type of service for the public. Meehan found that arrest records on the sites often went far beyond any and all statute of limitations, and often prevented people who had paid their dues to society from getting hired for a regular job. He found this reality unacceptable, because all companies falling under his entrepreneurial umbrella had long made a practice of giving people second chances.
Thomas P Meehan committed himself to finding a way to bring attention to the problem of arrest record sites, and their interference with the ability to earn a livelihood. Rather than taking on the sites directly, Meehan decided to issue a challenge to his fellow business owners and the only requirement was that they give good people a chance to prove their value.
Employees have taken to calling the challenge “Thomas P Meehan’s Arresting Experiment.” All involved hope that the call to action puts good people in jobs before the end of 2013.
