On October 16, 2013, the Federal Communications Commission put new laws into effect to protect consumer’s privacy during telemarketing campaigns. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TPCA), companies must acquire written consent before mass telemarketing through text messaging, automated dialing systems, artificial voices, or pre-recorded messages. Respecting the new laws, Ez Solutions made the necessary changes to all websites and loan applications, while also releasing a newsletter to their current lenders this week to inform them about the new changes.
Although Ez Solutions had to shift the way it approached telemarketing in order to respect the new privacy laws, the company took the changes in stride – simply accepting malleability as part of being in the lending industry. With so many requirements and the bulk of the liability resting on the shoulders of the lenders, EZ Solutions, Inc. is prepared to help take lenders to the next level.
Not only does Ez Solutions want their current lenders to know that the company is TCPA compliant, they also want to share the news about the regulations with others in the industry who might also have to shift gears in the way they do things or reevaluate who they do business with. It is important for lenders to be TCPA compliant while resting assured that the companies they buy leads from are, as well. Now more than ever, it is imperative to archive certificates of consumer consent on all leads purchased in the last five years in order to ensure compliancy and avoid business-flattening lawsuits.
Complying to the new TCPA laws is not just about avoiding legal penalties, Ez Solutions hopes to use this time as an opportunity to develop stronger bonds with others in the business.
