World’s Most Advanced Online Education Management System at Arab Women University is “All Set to Empower the Region’s Female Learners.”
Doha, Qatar (PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- An official announcement today by the founder/president of Arab Women University revealed that the university is using the world’s most advanced online education management system to empower the region’s women. Termed PowerEd™ by the institution, this state-of-the-art e-learning platform is helping the educators of the university equip Middle Eastern women with education and skills they need to become an active part of the society.
“For long, our region has been a male dominated society denying rights to women’s education and social participation. We are here to change that. We aim at fostering a society where women’s roles are not limited to homemaking and raising kids. We want our women to educate themselves, reduce their dependency on the male figures in their lives and become an active part of the whole system,” said the university’s founder Dr. Sheikha Mozah Bint Hamdan.
The university’s education management system, PowerEd™, is loaded with all tools necessary to help women of the region pursue their higher education goals with extreme ease. The platform offers a completely self-paced education model, allowing students to pause and resume their chosen program whenever they want. Understanding the mostly home-based roles women of the MENA region play, PowerEd™ allows them to study straight from the comfort of their homes whenever they get time. “For women, family and home are always the first priority. That’s why we’ve kept PowerEd™ so flexible that your education adapts to you rather than you adapt to the education,” added Dr. Sheikha Mozah.
As women of the university’s target region do not enjoy financial independence like their western counterparts, education at Arab Women University is kept affordable to its best. There are several financial aid options available using which the female learners of the region can make their desired education even more budget-friendly. With the affordability issue resolved, accessibility was made possible by PowerEd™.
Arab Women University provides the perfect higher education solution to not only the region’s native women, but also to women from other countries living in the region. “So far, we have confirmed over 4,500 enrollments of non-native women for different degree and non-degree programs in Q4, 2013. These are the women who have come to the region from different parts of the world and want to excel professionally. Some of them are already working and are getting their educational profiles enhanced for better career prospects,” informed Dr. Mozah.
About the Founder/President
Dr. Sheikha Mozah Bint Hamdan is the founder and the president of Arab Women University. Born in Dammam, KSA, and raised and educated in the US, she observed and deeply felt the disparity between the lives and roles of Arab and western women. After completing her PhD (Women's and Gender Studies) from Duke University, Mozah decided to return to her birthplace and strive to empower the region’s women. As she is an active women’s rights activist, her effort to found a university dedicated to the empowerment of women was strongly supported at home and aboard.
