Steps into Role at Smart Tuition after 10 Years in Tuition Management Industry

I am very much looking forward to an opportunity to show schools and organizations what Smart Tuition offers.

Smart Tuition, the country’s largest independently-owned K-12 tuition management company, announced today that student billing industry veteran Matt Knapp has joined the company as its President.

An accomplished executive, Knapp steps into his role after 10 years as Senior Vice President at Facts Management, a division of Nelnet. During his tenure, Knapp developed unique relationships throughout the industry and helped spearhead some of its biggest wins.

Knapp commented that he made this move because Smart has leapt ahead of its competition in meeting the billing and collection needs of its customers: “I’ve followed Smart Tuition, I’ve competed against Smart Tuition, I’ve admired Smart Tuition, and I’ve grown a deep respect for their amazing combination of service and technology. I believe there is a huge opportunity to advance Smart’s mission of making the parent educational payment experience flawless at every school. I am very much looking forward to an opportunity to show schools and organizations what Smart Tuition offers.”

Andrew Goldberger, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Tuition added, “Matt brings a wealth of expertise, determination, and proven leadership skills from his previous work helping private and faith-based schools. I forged a deep respect for Matt as a competitor, and truly look forward to working with him in our mission to improve the lives of school administrators, business officers, and as importantly, the families whose children attend these schools.”

Goldberger added, “Smart Tuition has never been more fortunate than it is today. Matt's leadership positions Smart Tuition to deliver on our mission now more than ever.”

Smart Tuition recently was announced to be the only tuition management company on the Inc. 500|5000 list, and in news that is almost certainly related, the company also released the results of an 8,000 parent payer survey that shows 8 out of 9 parents who have experienced paying Smart Tuition and its competitor prefer the Smart program.
