Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Easy Acoustic Guitar Song - Lou Reed Style”
(PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- In this guitar lesson, now available on YouTube.com, Claude Johnson teaches how to play “Walk on the Wild Side” by Lou Reed. TAB’s for this lesson are available at GuitarControl.com.
In today’s rhythm guitar lesson, Claude teaches using four simple chords how to play “Walk on the Wild Side” by Lou Reed from the DVD course Ultimate Guitar Song Collection, also available at GuitarControl.com. Claude teaches the four simple chords used in this song which are, F major, C major, F6, and D major. “If you do not already know these chords you can check them out at UltimateBeginnerGuitar.com”, says Johnson. Claude explains that the strumming pattern is made up of what he refers to as “16th note pickups”, which is essentially eighth notes for the C and F6 chords (1 as a down stroke, the & of 1 as an upstroke, 2 as a down stroke, the & of 2 as an upstroke, 3 as a down stroke, the & of 3 as an upstroke, 4 as a down stroke, and finally the & of 4 as an upstroke). For the next part of the song, Johnson explains that the strumming pattern is made up of a combination of quarter and eighth notes. From C Major to D Major, it is two down strokes on C Major (beats 1 and 2) and then a quick upstroke (on the & of 2) and then two down strokes on D Major (beats 3 and 4), then repeat the same sequence but switch C Major for F Major.
