Dixi, Thynk and Columbus, much more than soft seating
Clerkenwell, London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 7 November 2013 -- Dixi, a new chair from Connection that offers more than meets the eye. Designed by Ratio Design Associates, its fluid form will add a contemporary style to any open plan space. This is form with practical functionality seamlessly designed in, because the Dixi chair responds to both the acoustic and privacy requirements of people who have to work in open spaces.
Its unique sculptural form provides a cosy seclusion for the user. The sides offer visual seclusion and improve sound absorption during telephone conversations. On the optional swivel base, it is easy for someone working in a group to turn away to take a call in private.
The distinctive, fluid back shape also provides anyone using it protection from accidental disturbance, common amongst high-backed chairs where the occupant is not clearly visible.
During the research that led to our Liquid Workspace concept, which suggests work spaces that support collaboration, combined with areas for privacy and solo concentration are the most productive, we uncovered a growing body of research documenting the disadvantages of open plan offices, including strong dissatisfaction with noise privacy*.
In response to this the Thynk range of armchairs and sofas provide a sanctuary for personal privacy and contemplation or social interaction within busy offices and public spaces. With a wide variety of fabrics, colours and textures, Thynk can aesthetically coordinate or contrast with a wide variety of architectural landscapes.
Thynk is available in one, two and three seater options. On their own, they offer a quiet cocoon for people to think and work without disturbance or to grab a quick moment to make a private ‘phone call. Arranged in groups, they become peaceful meeting areas that never lose touch with their wider office surroundings.
More than ever work spaces are an extension of a business’s brand values and culture. Stylish furniture can do as much to demonstrate these as the colour the walls are painted or the artwork that decorates them.
Columbus is a fresh and funky new chair that welcomes you with open arms. Designed by Craig Jones Design, its smooth contours display a contemporary aesthetic combined with practical comfort.
Available on a fixed or swivel pedestal or wire bases, Columbus is perfect for modern reception and hospitality areas. Plus it will add a stylish touch with practical comfort and durability for breakout areas, where the chair is more likely to be in use for longer periods of time.
Dixi, Thynk, and Columbus are available from November. For more information visit connection.co.uk or call on +441484 600 100.
