Marketing Specialists for Plastic Surgeons, an internet marketing company catering to the plastic surgery niche, announced today that it would target Atlanta, GA, Miami, FL, Houston, TX, and Los Angeles, CA for its two contests. Both contests will award a free surgery procedure to one person in the area, with the winners being the contestants that send in the most compelling story of why they want a procedure done, or how their lives changed when they received the surgery they wanted.

One contestant will be chosen from each city from a contestant pool no larger than 500. Fewer than 500 contestants is likely to occur because the contest rules allow multiple stories from the same contestant to be sent in, with the caveat that they must provide proof that they helped sign up another contestant.

“We’re happy to announce the first cities that we will be performing the contest in,” said Craig Stephens, founder and CEO of Marketing Specialists for Plastic Surgeons. “If this is as big as we think it will be, then we’ll quickly move to other cities across the United States.”

Stories written by the contestants will be judged by a plastic surgeon in their area. The plastic surgeon will have the ultimate deciding vote in who wins each contest. Once a contestant is chosen, he or she will meet with the surgeon and a date can be set for the procedure. According to Stephens, the stories will be of immense worth to the surgeons that he partners with.

“This contest can take a lesser-known practice and bring it into the spotlight,” said Stephens. “Best of all, the surgeon gets to decide which story, and which procedure, he wants to commit to. By choosing a procedure that he likes, he gets instant notoriety in his city for being an expert at that procedure. It’s great PR that a lot of surgeons will take advantage of.”

No release date has been given for the contest, but Stephens has said that November is the tentative monthly timeframe that he wants to start. Stephens has said that he will stop taking applications immediately upon achieving 500 contestants.
