Dr. Larry Benz to Speak at 2013 Healthy, Wealthy & Smart Virtual Conference
Louisville, Kentucky (PRWEB) November 01, 2013 -- Dr. Laurence Benz, DPT, OCS, MBA and Co-Founder of Evidence in Motion (EIM) is set to speak at 2013’s Healthy, Wealthy & Smart, a virtual conference hosted by Karen Litzy, MS, PT, on November 4-8, 2013.
As one of twenty experts speaking at the conference, Dr. Benz will present “Left Out and Forgotten: What PTs Are Missing in Patient Care” which will address avenues other than hands-on intervention that physical therapists can use to improve patient outcomes. Throughout the course of his presentation, Dr. Benz will answer the following questions:
(1) As physical therapists, have we fully understood how we consciously or unconsciously influence patient care through measures other than direct hands on interventions?
(2) Have we internalized how our framing of patient problems and our resultant verbal and nonverbal clinical behavior influence patient outcomes?
(3) Perhaps most importantly, have we fully embraced evidence behind empathy, compassion, and positive psychology principles that are directly relevant to patient care?
In response to these questions, the team at Evidence In Motion has developed two courses, AmaZing! Customer Service and Called to Care, which will be offered at a 10% discount for those who purchase the Healthy, Wealthy & Smart upgrade package. AmaZing! Customer Service strives to improve clinic experiences so that patients are happier, healthier, and more loyal. The Called to Care course integrates compassion and empathy into the patient-therapist relationship to improve clinical outcomes.
The Healthy, Wealthy & Smart Virtual Conference is free and registration can be completed at http://www.healthywealthysmart.com. Participants who wish to purchase the 2013 Healthy, Wealthy & Smart package, including unlimited, permanent access to materials as well as various gifts, can do so during the event for $149.
