Developing more sustainable production methods while achieving food safety has become a top priority.

Atlantium Technologies Ltd., leader in Hydro-Optic™ ultraviolet (UV) water treatment for industrial applications, was chosen by the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) as one of three finalists for their 2013 Innovations Award in the Food Safety category.
Finalists were chosen for substantial achievement in performance, significant advancement in a technology, innovative design or considerable cost savings. Atlantium, chosen for making pasteurized-equivalent water and meeting the latest Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) criteria for cow water reuse, achieves all of them in one compact solution.
Heat pasteurization consumes 150kW per hour, while Atlantium technology uses just 3kW per hour to achieve the same results. Dairies save energy and water by using Atlantium UV to treat cow water and recycle it for sanitation and flushing processes. Atlantium Hydro-Optic UV, validated by third party to US FDA-PMO Grade A criteria, ensures that no spores or other water-borne microorganisms can infiltrate their production line, including heat-resistant spores.
“Atlantium was established to provide the world with safe and sustainable water treatment solutions,” said Mr. Benjamin Kahn, CEO of Atlantium Technologies, named “Hero of the Environment” by Time Magazine. “Developing more sustainable production methods while achieving food safety has become a top priority. It is gratifying to know that our paradigm-changing UV technology, consuming less energy and giving better results, is valued for the contribution it makes to the dairy and food & beverage industries.”
Atlantium’s achievement comes on the heels of winning the 2013 Beverage innovations Award, in the Sustainable Technology category, announced at Drinktec, the world Beverage Exhibition, in September.
The Dairy Innovations Award winners, chosen according to the most votes given by show attendees and dairy industry professionals, will be announced in a ceremony at the close of the International Dairy Show in Chicago on Wednesday, November 6 at the iDairy Show Theater.
Atlantium will be showing their award-winning technologies at the International Dairy Show, booth #840.
Atlantium Technologies Ltd., established in 2003, provides water intensive industries such as F&B, dairy, bio-pharma, aquaculture and municipal suppliers with UV based solutions, taking water biosecurity to levels never before achieved without chemicals.
Atlantium's Hydro-Optic system is field proven and validated to the highest regulatory standards including EPA and FDA. The company has an international customer base with installations all over the world.
