ShareATalent, a free social media site based around the talents of its users, officially launched its website version today. The new social media platform aims to help talented individuals build exposure and connect with others who have similar interests and skills. With ShareATalent’s unique focus on parental security, younger users can safely connect with others and develop their talents. During its beta phase, the site already has over 75,000 registered users.

Co-founder and CEO, Don Cornforth and his colleagues came together earlier this year to create ShareATalent.com. They quickly built a team to help turn their idea of a talent-based social media site into reality. “We hope people will use this site to further enhance the talents they have worked so hard to develop,” explains Don. His vision is that ShareATalent will be a place where users can make connections valuable to their talents.

Using search features such as “location-based” and “talent-based”, registered users can find other talented individuals both locally and across the world. Talent categories include sports, visual arts, dance, music, writing, photography and more. Users can list more than one talent, choosing one to display as their primary skill, and also build groups organized around additional talents or events to facilitate connections. Portfolio features are also available, such as uploading videos or images to users’ profile pages.

ShareATalent plans to launch the mobile app of the site sometime this month, November, 2013. The social media app will be available for Android, Windows, and iPhone users and will allow individuals to easily keep up with connections and events while on the go.
