With a little help from experts at Motorola Solutions, small and medium-sized businesses are poised to learn how barcoding can improve both productivity and profits.

On Nov. 11, Plano-based System ID will host the 2013 Barcode Technology Summit at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. Hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses from throughout the country are expected to attend and learn about the latest barcode and RFID trends from pacesetters in the industry.

These include two leading experts from Motorola Solutions:

  •     In a closing address titled, “Big Data Means Big Results,” Jim Hilton will demonstrate how companies can access instant information for real-time decision-making. Hilton, a manufacturing principal consultant at Motorola Solutions, will explain how field-based mobile computing solutions can be enhanced with technologies such as embedded GPS, telemetry imaging, document capture and wide-area connectivity.
  •     At a breakout session titled, “Delivering Technologies for Smarter Supply Chains,” Mike Maris will provide strategies to avoid disruptions in the global supply chain. The transportation principal consultant at Motorola Solutions, Maris will detail ways to increase the productivity across the supply chain using technology that eliminates previous barriers and promotes flawless fulfillment.

The summit is geared toward companies in the manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, supply chain, retail and transportation industries. An expanded and improved exhibition hall will show barcoding applications in action, with mock settings including a warehouse demonstrating how technology can be used to transform attendees’ businesses processes.
