Wilderness Ventures, the longest running and most experienced adventure travel program offering teen summer camps, is announcing two brand new teen adventures for the 2014 season. These new adventures give teens the chance to explore the landscapes, wilderness areas, outdoor adventure, and culture in Montana, Vermont, and Quebec.
Wilderness Ventures’ new Montana teen tour offers teens the chance to immerse themselves in the beauty, excitement, and fun of this diverse, pristine landscape. This unparalleled multisport adventure gives young adventurers the chance to participate in activities like biking the scenic Hiawatha Trail and whitewater rafting the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.
Other highlights of this Wilderness Ventures journey to Montana include an in-depth exploration of Glacier National Park including trekking to explore the glaciers, stand up paddle boarding on Whitefish Lake, and soaring above the wilderness on Montana’s longest zip line. Teens will also have the chance to zip line over the Yellowstone River and traverse one of Montana’s best-kept secrets---the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness while learning navigation techniques, low-impact camping proficiencies, and valuable leadership skills.
Wilderness Ventures new teen bicycling tour gives students the chance to explore the majestic terrain from Shaftsbury Vermont through Montreal in Canada. Teens will journey north in Vermont through the small towns of Dorset, Poultney, and Addison while practicing bike maintenance and cycling techniques and sleeping beneath Vermont’s star-studded sky. Other highlights include kayaking the largest lake in Vermont, Lake Champlain, viewing the Adirondack Mountains, and cycling along the Champlain Mountains to the Canadian border.
Teens on this Wilderness Ventures journey will also traverse Quebec’s famous cycling route, the Route Verte, while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the rural countryside and crossing the St. Lawrence River, until the cycling tour ends with an exploration of French-speaking Montreal. The final leg of the adventure takes participants to Boston by shuttle for an exploration of historic sites such as Faneuil Hall, the Boston Common, and Fenway Park with a final farewell celebratory dinner.
