Eighth Annual Seattle Basket Brigade Gears Up to Help Feed 300 Plus Families Thanksgiving Dinner
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 03, 2013 -- The eighth Annual Seattle Basket Brigade is almost here. This year the Seattle Basket Brigade is looking for volunteers and donations to help reach the goal of feeding more than 300 families in need in the greater Seattle area this Thanksgiving holiday.
The Seattle Basket Brigade is a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding Seattle families in need during Thanksgiving that might otherwise not have the means to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Basket Brigade concept was inspired by Anthony Robbins. These Basket Brigades throughout the world feed more than three to four million people throughout the world each year between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Our local Seattle Basket Brigade in 2012 assembled 185 food baskets feeding approximately 700 people.
The Seattle Basket Brigade feeds hundreds of families in the Greater Seattle Community each Thanksgiving, providing the makings of complete Thanksgiving dinners to families in need, from the turkey right down to the pumpkin pie.
Baskets are assembled and delivered to the homes of those in need.
We require donations and volunteers to help feed as many people in our community as possible.
The 2013 Basket Brigade is scheduled for Saturday, November 23rd at 11 a.m. Volunteers are needed to help assemble the food baskets and also to deliver the baskets and turkey to the families.

Interested volunteers must pre-register at the Online Registration Form.
Seattle Basket Brigade Director Les Berenson says, "The eighth Seattle Basket Brigade has a unique opportunity in 2013. With the increased pressure put on the local Seattle foods banks during Thanksgiving, the Seattle Basket Brigade is partnering with the University and the Highline food banks which serve very large areas in North and South Seattle. The volunteers will be delivering large baskets of food as well as turkeys that usually feed a family for two to three days. Our goal is to prepare 300 or more baskets and feed approximately 1,500 needy people at Thanksgiving. We need donations from everyone in order to help our goal to serve Seattle area residents in need."
A donation of $40 feeds a family of four for two to three days. 100 percent of all donations is used to purchase turkeys and food. For information to donate at PayPal or address to send donation check, visit http://www.SeattleBasketBrigade.com.
The Seattle Basket Brigade Team wishes you and your family a happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
