Talk Show Host Chelsea Krost Honored Among South Florida’s Young Leaders in Philanthropy
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- The Unicorn Children’s Foundation recently selected TV & Radio Talk Show Host Chelsea Krost as one of South Florida’s Young Leaders in Philanthropy for her dedication to serving the community. Each of the honorees were featured in Simply the Best magazine and recognized at a special dinner ceremony at Jazziz Nightlife on October 21, 2013.
“It was so exciting to be honored as a Young Leader in Philanthropy amongst other incredibly talented and passionate Millennials,” said Krost, who is a renowned expert on Millennial issues.
Krost, who grew up in Florida, devotes much of her time to volunteering and has maintained involvement with The Unicorn Children’s Foundation, Africa Heart, Dream Sponsors, Inc., SOS Children’s Villages, and Girls for A Change, among others.
Based in Boca Raton, Florida, the Unicorn Children’s Foundation is dedicated to serving children and young adults with developmental, communication, and learning disorders through education, awareness, and research so that they can lead productive and fulfilling lives. Max Tucci, a long-time volunteer with the foundation, initiated Young Leaders in Philanthropy and serves as fundraising gala chairman.
“I'd always wanted to gather a dynamic group of young philanthropists, who are helping to change the community for the better—those who understand 'paying it forward.' My dream became a reality when Simply the Best magazine, Unicorn Children's Foundation, and Sarah Hassan all agreed to join me to find 10 Young Leaders in Philanthropy,” Tucci said.
“Of the 10, Chelsea Krost was one Young Leader that I nominated. Chelsea is an absolute example of the definition, and I was honored when she accepted. What Chelsea does for her community and the world is what all young woman should inspire to do. She is a voice for the voiceless and a helping hand. She is a shoulder to cry on and stands boldly in the face of adversity. Chelsea, alongside the nine other inspiring individuals, is not only dynamic but giving. Without them, my idea would have never become a reality."
Recognizing this, leadership/lifestyle expert and S.H.E. Summit founder Claudia Chan invited Krost to co-host a prominent women’s networking event that took place on October 17, 2013. The event was held at Dermalogica in Santa Monica, CA and the theme was “Falling Into New Possibilities.”
Chan constantly strives to empower women to lead their optimal personal and professional lives by sharing advice and stories from female role models through her 200+ women interview series on ClaudiaChan.com and her annual global women’s week event called the S.H.E. Summit.
“Claudia Chan is an absolute inspiration,” Krost affirms. “Her drive and motivation are contagious and the entire room was filled with dynamic women who felt that. I was honored to have been the ‘Millennial Influencer’ at the networking event and look forward to working with Claudia again in the near future.”
Krost was joined at the event by three fellow co-hosts:
• Victoria Pynchon- Author, keynote speaker, and consultant for She Negotiates Consulting and Training
• Jennifer Sprague- Vice President of Marketing at BGBGMaxAzria
• Kalika Yap- CEO at Citrus Studios
“An amazing group of women attended the event and truly enjoyed networking with each other,” Krost said. “This event was definitely the place to be if you are a savvy networker, up and coming business owner, or entrepreneur."
