"Keep Christ In Christmas Pledge" Seeks To Break Guinness Book Of World Records
Escondido, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- A group of Christian entrepreneurs, led by Greg Writer, has organized an online campaign to collect pledges to "Keep Christ In Christmas," and attempt a world record in doing so. The idea was birthed to honor Tom McLaughlin, a Los Angeles animator who was inspired to create designs where the "T" in Christmas is the image of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
Unfortunately, shortly after concluding a business agreement to bring his ideas to fruition, Tom suffered a fatal heart attack and graduated to Heaven while on a bike ride, leaving behind three children and his wife. His tragic death might have left his project in limbo, but Greg Writer, the businessman who had agreed to help Tom market his designs, is determined to carry on with the project. "I want to do this not only to benefit Tom's three children, but also as a way to help fellow Christians, who all too often remain silent about their faith, find the courage to come forward and put their support behind this important pledge," Writer says.
Even though at 76 percent of Americans, Christianity is by far the dominant religious choice in this country, as a group, we are slowly losing our freedoms, and experiencing more and more discrimination. One of the worst traditions under attack is the idea of keeping Christ in Christmas. Originally conceived as a way to save space in advertisements in old newspapers, the non-word "X-Mas truly has placed an "X" over one of our most sacred holidays. But we have an idea to put Christ back into Christmas and at the same time, turn that "X" into a cross. But we need your help to achieve our goals.
At the same time, Writer, who is CEO and founder of Inspiration By God, wanted to use his marketing skills to make the campaign fun and engaging. That's when he came up with the idea of trying to set a world record and recently filed the application to officially attempt a world record to get the most pledges. Currently the most pledges received for a campaign is 104,291 and was achieved by Folgers (USA) for 'Pledges to Take a Coffee Break', from 26 September to 10 October 2013.
Writer is hoping that ministry leaders and their following, from every Christian denomination, will participate in this campaign and make history by setting a world record. Our main intention is to encourage Christians around the world to step forward as a group and pledge to Keep Christ In their Christmas. Our secondary goal is to honor Tom and help support his children through the sale of various products with these special designs.
