Military and Veterans can take their pick of discounts on dining, shopping, and travel at over 85,000 businesses nationwide this Veteran's Day. On November 11, merchants will treat vets to complimentary meals, shopping deals, car washes, and discounts on hotel and bed and breakfast accommodations as a thank you for their service. A detailed list of discounts is available on The Military and Veterans Discount Center the largest online source for military community discounts. Newly added freebies from Subway and On the Border top the list of popular eateries like Applebee's, Chili's, and Denny's which continue the tradition of no cost menu items for vets. As proof of military service is often required and other conditions may apply, vets are advised to call ahead before visiting.

Also new to this year's list, McCormick & Schmick's is offering a complimentary meal from a select menu on the Sunday prior to Veteran's Day. Shoe shoppers can look forward to a 10% discount at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, and a 20% discount at Foot Locker. Military, spouses, and vets who want to catch up on projects around the house can visit Bed Bath & Beyond for 20% savings in-store. The Home Depot and Lowe's will extend their 10% military discount to veterans for the holiday. Red Roof Inn offers a 15% discount during the month of November.

"This year, the number of discounts offered to members of the military community has doubled. In fact, there are close to 50,000 restaurant locations offering deals ranging from buy one get one free to a no cost meal," says Terrence Thomas, CEO of Military Service Rewards, LLC, which operates the Military and Veterans Discount center (MVDC.) "It is gratifying to see businesses honor military and veterans for their service and sacrifice."

Military personnel and veterans who would like to access from a smartphone for discounts throughout the year can download the MVDC app for iPhone or Android.

"We are excited to place this comprehensive list of discounts at vets' fingertips for deals on the go," says Thomas.
