Druva Taps New VP Steve McChesney to Drive Major Channel Expansion
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- Druva, developer of the market-leading inSync endpoint data protection and governance platform, today announced the appointment of Steve McChesney to serve in the new role of VP of Business Development. With 25 years in the technology sector, including eight in channel management and sales at F5 Networks, McChesney will focus on broadening Druva’s global distribution channels to facilitate inSync deployments for enterprises seeking a unified solution for safeguarding corporate data across desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
McChesney’s appointment follows a year of dramatic growth for the inSync suite with adoptions ranging from UC Berkeley to Sephora and Horace Mann. The platform now protects more than 1.7 million endpoints for 2,100 organizations in 76 countries through a combination of automated endpoint backup, IT-managed file sharing, data loss prevention, and a centralized audit trail of all data content and movement for governance, compliance, eDiscovery and forensics. It also creates a master record of all endpoint data for instant remote file access as well as easy content recovery in the event of device loss or theft.
McChesney’s responsibilities at Druva include forging new reseller partnerships and strategic alliances to accelerate inSync access by organizations grappling with the security and accountability challenges caused by mobilization, free online file sharing services and the consumerization of IT.
“Now that the core components of our inSync suite are in place, including a choice of private cloud, public cloud and on-premise deployment options, putting more feet on the street through the channel is a top priority,” said Jaspreet Singh, Druva founder and CEO. “We brought Steve on board to drive this initiative because of his strong track record in channel sales, his specific experience with IT infrastructure products, and his understanding of how inSync is redefining data protection and governance in today’s increasingly mobile enterprise.”
“Druva has established a ‘new normal’ in endpoint data management that closes the vulnerability and governance gaps created by the massive changes in enterprise computing over the past few years.” McChesney said. “Any organization that is serious about risk management is going to have to adopt a solution like inSync, and that means substantial greenfield opportunities for the channel in a space that has obvious value for customers of any size from SMBs to global enterprises.”
McChesney joined F5 Networks in 2004 to develop their channel program, helping to orchestrate a tenfold increase in channel sales while also increasing sales through the channel from 50% to over 90% of revenue. He was promoted to VP of Channel Sales, Americas, in 2010. McChesney has also held senior sales and business development positions at Adara Networks, Venture2.com, Photozone.com and Visio Corporation. He holds a BA in Business Communications and Advertising from the University of Washington.
