Association Honors Internet-based Health Management System

The International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA), an association that leads, connects and defines the active-aging industry, is pleased to name Interactive Health Partner (IHP) as the 2013 recipient of the ICAA Innovators Practical Solutions Award (formerly the Innovative Solutions Award). This category of the annual ICAA Innovators Awards program recognizes creative products or services for active older adults. Offerings may target any or all of the seven wellness dimensions endorsed by ICAA—emotional, vocational, physical, spiritual, environmental, social and intellectual wellness.

Developed by parent company PCE Health & Fitness in Salt Lake City, Utah, IHP’s online solution brings together health data collection, fitness assessments, and exercise prescription and monitoring in one location. Easy access to health information and professional recommendations allows users to create comprehensive health profiles for clients and effectively manage their health and wellness. According to IHP, health data has been collected for almost 100,000 individuals to date, and a duplicate health profile has never been produced.

“The growth of the active-aging industry depends on a number of things,” says Colin Milner, ICAA’s founder and CEO. “Among these are products and services providers that understand and strive to meet the diverse needs and aspirations of this market. Their offerings are resources for organizations that promote older-adult health, wellness and quality of life. With the Practical Solutions Award,” Milner continues, “ICAA recognizes products and services that help advance the industry. Interactive Health Partner, for example, supplies health and fitness information in one place, so professionals can customize exercise prescriptions for their clients and monitor progress. ‘Knowledge is power,’ as the saying goes. And with the information they gain from IHP, professionals know how best to proceed with each individual client. On behalf of ICAA,” he adds, “I congratulate IHP on winning this year’s ICAA Innovators Practical Solutions Award.”

IHP President and CEO Peter Schenk calls it “such an honor for Interactive Health Partner to be recognized by both the senior community and by the esteemed professionals at ICAA. While this acknowledgement is tremendous, the greater importance is found in this award’s symbolism. To know that our company is benefiting our members is ultimately the most fulfilling compliment,” Schenk says.

As a 2013 ICAA Innovator, IHP will receive a crystal award of recognition, plus a profile in ICAA’s flagship publication, the Journal on Active Aging®, in the 2014 calendar year.
