Prescott, Arizona (PRWEB) November 12, 2013
Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics and Medical Spa opened its doors October 24th to other local businesses and the community by hosting its first ever small business mixer. Attendees sampled products, participated in a gift raffle, toured the facility and were educated about the services offered at Body Oasis Medispa, Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute and Prescott Vein Specialties.
Social media is a key component in today’s market and a great way to get information out with little to no cost. Body Oasis reached out to the local small business community with the first annual “Facebook Small Business Mixer” and was rewarded with a lively turnout. The mixer allowed small businesses to not only see their competition, but also see what other products are available to them as a consumer. Attendees met the staff at Body Oasis Medispa, Vein Specialties, and Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute before scheduling procedures, thus allowing them to make a personalized and educated decision and not have to rely on the phone book or a search engine.

In addition, Monique Ridgeway performs nail care and facials for clients at Body Oasis Medispa. “We invited the attendees to relax and rejuvenate with free hand massages,” noted Monique. Monique is also in charge of promoting and marketing thru social networks, and she organized and promoted the Facebook event. Sunny Maffett, medical assistant at Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute, co-organized the event and assisted the vendors in showcasing their product lines. “Watching everyone exchange business cards and telephone numbers was a good indication that the mixer was a success for the visiting businesses as well as our companies,” added Sunny.
Representatives of several businesses attended the mixer, and have scheduled treatments themselves. There were local owners of companies such as SafetyGirl pepper sprays, Lia Sophia Jewelry and Make It Work body wraps. Also in attendance were a local permanent make up tattoo artist, Happy Cakes cupcakes, local physicians and practitioners, a vitamin and supplement distributor, a magazine publisher, and a bracelet vendor. “Tonight was a really great turn out, and the diversity of the businesses made the event that much better,” commented Sunny, medical assistant at Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute.
Consumers and patients were able to meet, greet, and experience businesses from a different perspective. People do business with people, and this event allowed them to meet the people behind the products. The staff at Body Oasis Medispa, Vein Specialties, and Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute were able to show patients what the equipment looks like, and who will be performing their procedures. Patients have less anxiety when they know what to expect. Not only did the small business mixer help the local economy, it helped with patient care and ensuring a more comfortable patient.
