Inconceivable: Albino Dragon Smashes Kickstarter Goal for Officially Licensed Bicycle Playing Cards Based on the Much Loved Movie, the Princess Bride
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- Albino Dragon, a tabletop game developer and publisher, is proud to announce their newest project, an officially licensed, customized Bicycle playing card deck based on the much-beloved movie, The Princess Bride. The project was launched on Kickstarter (http://kck.st/1abG56t) and, in one day, received double their goal. Fans have already pledged over $40,000 and are well on their way to funding three versions of the playing decks, each done by a separate artist, to bring the world of The Princess Bride to life in three different styles.
The decks will feature one of a kind court cards, custom jokers, and custom pip cards. The cards all feature rich artwork based solely on The Princess Bride. Maintaining their commitment to quality and excellence, the deck will be printed by the USPCC.
“The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies and it’s easy to see why it’s a classic,” said Erik Dahlman, CEO of Albino Dragon. “Working with three artists to design three amazing decks we hope to provide at least one deck that every fan can enjoy.”
The project will be funded by Kickstarter and it joins the family of already successful projects Albino Dragon has created using crowdfunding, including their recent success with The Name of the Wind that ended with over half a million dollars. To date, the company has funded over $900,000 across eight projects on Kickstarter and has a fan base that has grown from 200 to over 18,000 in the past year.
Pledges from the Kickstarter will go to offsetting printing, shipping, and production costs. Albino Dragon strives to make the most of their Kickstarters through innovative rewards and updates. For example, the company has regular Google Hangouts with backers and fans so that they can give their input on projects. Previous projects have included incorporating a backer’s likeness or ideas into card designs.
