Highly Successful Sober Living Homes Expand to Include Addiction Treatment
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- Sober living champion, Polly Parsons, has announced the expansion of her successful sober living homes to include addiction and alcohol treatment for men. In addition, she will open Hickory Wind Ranch Recovery Community, a unique 90-day treatment and extended care program that will be customized for male residents to determine the best way to help them beat addiction once their individual needs have been assessed. The new website can be viewed at http://www.HickoryWindRanch.com.
Polly opened Hickory Wind Ranch in 2006 and has since become one of the premier sober living facilities in the country. Polly is the daughter of legendary country rock pioneer, Gram Parsons, who has influenced the likes of the Eagles, Elvis Costello and even the Rolling Stones. Gram’s addiction led to his untimely death at the young age of 26 after a heroin overdose. Polly addressed a question she often asked herself: what would have happened to her father if he had a safe haven to get the help he needed? Polly knew it was her mission to help a struggling community-- so she opened up Hickory Wind Ranch, her sober living homes that cater to those creative minds seeking help from addiction.
After witnessing positive outcomes for her sober living residents, Polly’s passion and vision grew to create an extended care and treatment community for men. "I’m excited about being able to offer full addiction treatment services and being a part of this journey, from the very first step of darkness into recovery," says Polly. With this new vision, Polly brought in former Williamson County health care advisor, Rick Treadway-Teran, as Clinical Director and co-owner. "I have worked in the recovery/mental health treatment since 1993 and have seen what works and what needs improvement. I saw that Hickory Wind Sober Living was working well, so when Polly approached me about increasing the services offered, I saw the chance to help create a special setting for drug and alcohol treatment. It was clear that they were going to embark on a new and very special style of recovery support," says Rick. With a new vision and continuum-of-care philosophy, Polly and Rick are excited to unveil the Hickory Wind Ranch Recovery Community. This unique 90-day extended care and treatment program will be customized for male residents to determine the best way to help them beat addiction once their individual needs have been assessed. This new system includes full service addiction treatment for men.
Rick’s role as Clinical Director "is to determine the necessary education curriculum and experiences that enhance the residents recovery process." This creative role allows for each moment at Hickory Wind Ranch to be an opportunity for everyone to learn and grow while beating addiction. Rick also teaches classes, leads groups and assesses each person individually to further their recovery process. "This submersion in the client’s well being is key to the success of the community that Hickory Wind Ranch is building."
Hickory Wind Ranch promotes creativity and artistic expression as a means of recovery and growth. It’s also the high level of interaction, engagement and personalization that sets Hickory Wind Ranch apart. Rick states "safety and sobriety is our main concern. The program promotes dealing with sobriety in real-life, and we always want to reduce the risk of institutionalization, as we instill self-management structure."
