Peekskill, New York (PRWEB) November 06, 2013
Starting today November 6th, Peekskill, New York will officially be the home to a new hot dog food truck. Retired Deputy Superintendent of Security with the New York State Department of Correctional Services, Thomas Fitzgerald, has officially traded in his sidearm for a spatula. After seeking a way to stay busy after retirement he is trying his hand in the mobile food business. As a frequent customer of hot dog trucks in Westchester County, the Buchanan resident is now the owner and operator of Fitzy’s Famous Franks. Starting at 10:30am, the bright red food truck can be found parked on 100th block of Washington Street, right across from the Capri II.
Fitzgerald’s new venture will start with serving Sabrett hot dogs and a choice of French fries or sweet potato fries on the side. Other menu items will consist of varieties of sodas, juices, ice pops, and Italian ices. Once he becomes more comfortable with the functionality of his food truck and the mobile food industry, additional food items will be created and added to the menu. Some items he is anxious to add are his signature chicken “wing-dings” served with french fries, and mac and cheese bites served with a choice of a side. In a recent interview with the new entrepreneur he stated, “Since the truck is set up as a mobile kitchen, there really is no limit to the menu”. The hot dog food truck is anticipated to attend local street fairs and events starting in the spring and summer of 2014. To receive updates on all menu and location changes follow Fitzy’s Famous Franks on Facebook.
To accomplish his goal of creating a fully functioning mobile kitchen, Thomas Fitzgerald turned to food truck experts at Vending Trucks, Inc.
