Michelle and Bryan will share with attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how Marriott Rewards has been able to create true engagement by starting conversations around the emotional connection their brand has created with current and future customers.

GSMI will be kicking off it’s 5th year of the Social Media Strategies Summit with a three day event in Las Vegas, February 4-6th, 2014. GSMI is excited to announce that Michelle Lapierre, Senior Director of Customer Experience & Social Media with Marriott Rewards, will be opening Day 2 of the Social Media Strategies Summit with a case study presentation on the strategic advantages of not talking about your brand on social channels.

Michelle has spent the last 20+ years holding various field and corporate positions in sales and marketing at Marriott from on-property operations to corporate strategic planning. In her current position, Michelle sets the strategic direction for Marriott Rewards member acquisition, engagement and retention from on-site treatment to building enduring relationships in social media channels.

Michelle will be joined on stage by Bryan Stratton, Director of Digital and Social Strategy with Salt Communications. Bryan brings 12 years of experience in the interactive entertainment industry and has helped to execute well over 100 integrated social and digital experiences for Fortune 500 companies like Marriott International, Levi's and Disney.

Michelle and Bryan will share with attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how Marriott Rewards has been able to create true engagement by starting conversations around the emotional connection their brand has created with current and future customers - all by not talking about their brand. Attendees will learn how to listen-and-respond their way to creating meaningful conversations on social channels, examples of good and bad content, and how real conversations drive real friendships and what this means for the future of customer service models.
