Demmer Corporation today announced it has received a prestigious 2013 Mobilizer Award in the category of ‘Enterprise-Wide Mobility’ for its use of the Canvas mobile app platform to transform its business through improved efficiency of operations, significant cost savings, reduced operational downtime, and enhanced quality control and safety efficiency.

Now in its 12th year, The Mobilizer Awards honor public and private enterprises across all industries - including government - that have transformed their businesses by deploying wireless mobile solutions. Demmer executives received the award at the 2013 Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit, held Nov. 4-6 in Dallas, Texas.

Demmer Corporation, a leading U.S. metal fabrication and machining supplier with more than 300 employees serving the defense, aerospace, automotive, transportation and energy industries, operates multiple facilities with an even greater number of manufacturing processes – each one requiring paperwork for inspections, safety and workflow. ➢    Significant annual cost savings – The use of Canvas mobile apps in place of cost and time-intensive paper-based manual processes has resulted in cost savings for Demmer in upwards of $1 million annually. In fact, one business process alone (machine uptime tool and efficiency log) that was shifted from paper to Canvas mobile apps resulted in a $250,000 cost avoidance.

➢    Improved quality control and safety efficiency – Demmer has benefited from more rapid and efficient quality issues resolution. For example, estimated savings from using Canvas instead of paper audits exceeds 300 hours per year, along with a huge improvement to safety problem resolution due to the rapid response time, which has led to a reduction in workplace injuries.

➢    More efficient use of personnel – Use of Canvas has helped reduce the number of hours required to perform quality audits – down nearly 70% – allowing personnel to be dedicated to other, value added assignments. Canvas’ application for employee training record saves over 100 hours per year in HR tracking along with 12 reams of paper.
