Special Operations Warrior Foundation Honored by GreatNonProfits as 2013 Top-Rated Nonprofit
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- The Special Operations Warrior Foundation announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2013 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.
"We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2013 Nonprofit,” says Edie Rosenthal, Deputy Executive Director, Special Operations Warrior Foundation. "We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including being able to immediately step in and assist the families of fallen warriors when the government shutdown cut off funding for military funerals. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation immediately sent $20,000 overnight to the four families of fallen warriors, and we will ensure their children receive a college education. It is the least we can do for those who have lost so much.”
The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that the Special Operations Warrior Foundation received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit.
For example, one person wrote, "I lost my father in Afghanistan back in 2003 when I was just 10 years old. Special Operations Warrior Foundation has taken care of me 100% by paying for my college. They have gone above and beyond by paying for my college and by providing me with gifts and genuine empathy. I would not have been able to attend college without this organization helping me, and now I am in my fourth year.”
Jacob Centeno Healy wrote, "SOWF goes above and beyond to take care of each and every recipient. I believe their efforts far exceed their mission/vision and they continue to change lives in a paramount way."
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the Top-Rated Awards this year.
"Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, "People with direct experience with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”
Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is a top-rated nonprofit organization that supports the families of fallen and wounded special operations personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. The foundation ensures college educations to the surviving children of fallen special operators and immediate financial stipends to the families of severely wounded special operators.
